Escaping to the most romantic city in the world with the one you love is as good as it gets. Unless, of course, it involves a wedding in Venice with all your dearest friends and family, then it’s even better. That’s exactly how Lesley and Eric planned their destination wedding in Venice!
And to capture this unique event they chose Nicole Leigh photographer that perfectly captured this gorgeous nuptials.
Lesley and her family have been visiting for years, spending time surrounded by the city’s history, culture, and magic. One of the last years her boyfriend Eric accompanied them on their family trip. And he loves the time they’ve spent there as much as Lesley and her family. So one day, during a pleasant lunch at a typical Locanda on Torcello islandwith some Italian friends Eric asked Lesley to be his wife.
During the following year spent enjoying their engagement, the bride contacted our Team to plan any stylish detail of their timeless wedding in Venice. A wedding that would celebrate their love, the union of two families and the big love for this city and its traditions.
And finally last September from Philadelphia, USA, they return to the place that has been so dear to both to celebrate their wedding in Venice with families and friends!
WELCOME IN VENICE!
They arrived in Venice with their loved ones for a long week end celebration and chose to stay at Metropole Hotel just close to St. Mark square. Overlooking the lagoon, this eccentric, warm, eclectic 5 stars hotel is a charming place, perfect for such a romantic occasion. For all the other 80 guests Style A Wedding Team provided a range of accommodations nearby taking care to welcome all with a cute welcome-bag filled up with useful objects like a city map, the schedule of the celebration days, great Venetian cookies and much more to enjoy their Venetian days.
The celebration started with a fun welcome dinner in a Murano glass factory. From St Mark square the boat taxis took all the guests to a charming secluded garden inside the factory, next to the ovens room where master glassmakers everyday expertly shape wonderful glass objects. That night having everyone eyes on they created for Lesley and Eric a beautiful and precious white vase in memory of their wedding in Venice.
It was an incredible night …and the best was yet to come!
THE MAGIC SCENARIOS OF A WEDDING IN VENICE
After the preparation in a wonderful attic suite with private terrace on Venice roofs the bride reached the Citrus Garden of Metropole Hotel for the First Look with the groom. This incredible Mediterranean oasis of jasmine, palms, agaves and orange trees in the heart of Venice, with its 16th century wellhead was the perfect location for a first shooting on the wedding day.
But in a wedding in Venice the photo shoot is not complete without a boat ride in search of the most picturesque and famous glimpses like San Giorgio church, Palazzo Ducale and Piazza San Marco.
In her lovely lace wedding gown Lesley finally arrived right to the Locanda in Torcello where Eric asked her to marry him time ago. Can you imagine a best frame to tie the knot? She walked the lane accompanied by her father and preceded by a long line of Bridesmaids and Groomsmen.
Bride and Groom exchanged vows beneath a beautiful flowering Chuppah of white and purple flowers, an enchanting realization of Vincenzo Dascanio floral designer. The symbolic ceremony was full of meaningful moments referring to Jewish traditions of Lesley family, including stomping on the glass to end the ceremony!
All around the greenery of a peaceful garden provided a quiet place for the bride and groom to bask in the joy of their wedding day. After a rich aperitif based on “cicchetti”, the typical Venetian finger food made with fresh local ingredients, the guests moved to the gazebo for the dinner.
The flower decorations in soft pink and all the shades of purple added a pop of color to the tables set with white linen tablecloths. The flower arrangements were soft, simple and elegant and with a feisty country touch, an unconventional and particular mood for a wedding in Venice.
Lesley and Eric kept their destination more intimate, with only 80 guests joining them in Venice. To give their reception an Italian country touch, guests were assigned to tables with escort cards supported by corks of an Italian wine estate and each table was indicated by a bottle of precious Italian wine.
For each guest a precious gift from the glass factory of the rehearsal dinner, a handmade glass as a significant memory of their wedding in Venice. A characteristic object of the Venetian tradition called in Venetian dialect “goti”.
The party went on until late in the night in that incredible verdant and luxuriant frame, a place to linger and relax, perfect for a special wedding in Venice like this, looking for charm, the atmosphere of Venice and discretion.
THE MAGIC OF A SECRET GARDEN IN VENICE
Torcello is one of the most popular islands in the Venice lagoon yet it is still fairly peaceful. Much of the island is a nature reserve, accessible only on the walking paths. Founded in the 5th century, Torcello is even older than Venice and still retains the charm of ancient times.
Torcello always is one of the most sought-after destination for a wedding in Venice. Hidden in the heart of the Venice Lagoon, Torcello Island is a true jewel and the perfect place for those who want to arrange a wedding far from the touristic paths, in a peaceful, magic, mysterious and intimate atmosphere, full of art and history.
The intimate Santa Fosca church is really enchanting and a perfect frame for a Catholic wedding in Venice.
For your wedding reception you can choose like Lesley and Eric one of the typical and cozy taverns along the canal that ends up with the tiny charming square.
Getting married in Torcello for sure is a unique way to treat your guests with an exclusive, intimate and unique Venice experience.
